How much raw food should I feed my dog?

Raw Dog Food Feeding Guide

For adult dogs, a general rule of thumb for raw feeding guidelines is to feed 2-3% of the dog’s ideal body weight in food (Use your dog’s ideal body weight not its current weight). This is the daily amount that should be split between two meals: one in the morning and one in the evening.

For puppies, the general advice is to feed 2-3% of the puppy’s ideal adult weight; again, this is the daily amount that should be split between three or four meals. An alternative guideline is a daily amount of 10% of the puppy’s current weight split in the same way.

Important

Please remember that this is only a guide and there are many other factors to consider such as size (Smaller breeds of dog need a higher percentage of their body weight while larger breeds need a smaller percentage), breed, age, activity level and others. Observe your dog’s weight closely and either increase or decrease the quantity of food to maintain a healthy weight. Check with your vet, particularly for puppies and pregnant dogs.
